INTERNATIONAL NETWORK |
| |
| With 24
branches and 16 distance learning
centres around the world, the members of ICS are part of an internationally recognised network of shipping professionals who not only work towards high professional ethical standards of trust, but who also have proven knowledge, competence and understanding of the broad spectrum of shipping business. |
| In such a global business, shipping
often means moving from country to country,
however, as a member of ICS boundaries melt and become
invisible. No matter which branch a member belongs to,
they are encouraged to participate in the activities of the whole branch network worldwide. |
|
Branch events, courses, seminars and training sessions are open to all members
across the world. Spreading ‘good practice’ throughout the network,
and therefore the industry, is a key ICS objective.
|
| ICS is working to add value to
the existing activities of all its
branches. In 2006, for
example, the individual
seminar programmes across
India, Dubai, Pakistan, Sri
Lanka and Liverpool were linked by theme and objectives. |
| The ICS website is also another portal to the network with a dedicated members’ area. This allows members to search for contacts and companies, as well as access specialist industry information.
|
| Shipping Network, the ICS journal, is another
expression of the network and information sharing.
