well as shipowners and operators staff involved in port turnaround. |

The course offers a brief introduction to the whole field of port agency
operations and the relationship between the terms of the Charter party or Bill
of Lading and the activity of the agent. This course is delivered by a series of
lectures.

| The characteristics of dry cargo tramp
trades, tanker trades and liner services, private and common carrier concepts.
The owner, operator and charterer. The major bulk of commodities and trade
routes. What is port agency? Owners/charterers agents.

| MEASUREMENT OF SHIP SIZES AND
CAPACITY |
| A ship type quiz which covers main ship
types (bulk carriers, OBO, tankers, general purpose and specialist ships
including reefers, barge carriers, Ro-ro etc). Stowage & Cargo handling -
on shore and on board. (Intercargo video). |
| THE PORT CALL |
| Port arrangements, cargo arrangements,
masters' requirements. FAL forms, ships documentation, surveys. Cargo delivery
and claims. Disbursements.

| SALES OF GOODS |
| Including Incoterms, methods of payments,
the Bill of Lading and other documents.
